LEDA Data Contribution
The LEDA Traitbase has been compiled from various sources. During
the funding period of the LEDA
Project, partners
integrated their own data bases into LEDA, compiled extensive
literature surveys and organised measurement campaigns. External
contributors agreed to give trait data to LEDA. These data were
reviewed by the LEDA Editorial
Board and then incorporated into the Traitbase.
The LEDA Consortium welcomes people interested in delivering new
data to the LEDA Traitbase. These data can be measurements or
literature compilations. The LEDA
Data Standards provide baseline information on how the data
should be organised. Please use the Data
Import application and the help pages. To assure data quality and
consistency with the LEDA data standard, the LEDA Editorial Board
will review the data before incorporating them into LEDA.
When a contributor enters data into the LEDA Traitbase these data
will be placed in a unique batch that can only be edited by the data
owner (batch owner). The batch will be uploaded and send to the LEDA
Editorial Board (LEB) for a data check. After approval of the data,
the batch will be closed and entered to the Traitbase. When the data
in a batch is disapproved, the batch will be deleted. However, if
only part of the batch is not accepted, the batch owner will get
this part of the batch back for editorial purposes according to LEB
instructions. After revision the batch can be resubmit for approval
by the LEB. The batch owner will be notified each time a decision
has been made on their batch.
All contributors supplying a considerable amount of data to LEDA
(e.g. 100 single records) are listed on the LEDA contributors list.
