Revision of web pages
April 13th, 2008 - New trait online
After extensive error checks, new traits are now online.
To avoid additional sources of errors, the aggregation routines
are not activated for most of these traits. You will only receive
the raw data (one record per species, trait and single study).
July, 14th, 2006 - Help file extended
The help file available from the help link on the top
banner of the leda web pages now contains valuable information on
how to constrain queries to a list of species that you can upload
July, 14th, 2006 - Bug correction
There was a bug within the set default attributes
functionality leaving the webquery application in a non-usable state
whenever the default button was clicked on. The button may be
used now, but the default attributes per trait still have to be
reviewed. Comments are welcome. The mentioned bug could only be
discovered because we had valuable feedback from webquery users.
Please continue to contact us via email
(support_at_leda-traitbase.org, replace '_at_' by '@') whenever you
suspect a bug. Thank you!
July, 10th, 2006 - Complete publication list available
The list of papers has been completed.
July, 10th, 2006 - Bug correction
There was a bug blocking the LEDA webquery. It has been
corrected. Users now get notified when their webquery session
expires due to prolongued inactivity
July, 1st, 2006 - The first public version of the Traitbase is on
line
In version 0.1 the LEDA Traitbase offers trait data for
shoot growth form, leaf distribution along the stem, woodiness,
branching, canopy height
age of first flowering, plant life span, specific leaf area, leaf
dry matter content, leaf size
seasonality of buds, bud number / vertical distribution
seed number, seed shedding, seed crop frequency
seed releasing height, terminal velocity
Data quality control for other traits is still under way, namely
for
buoyancy, endozoochory, epizoochory, diaspore type, dispersal vector
persistence of connections between mother and daugther plants
number of offspring shoots, lateral spread, clonal growth organs
seed bank longevity, seed mass, seed shape
morphology of dispersal unit, plant growth form, habitat
characteristics
. Data for these traits will be published once data quality control
is finished. This will hopefully happen before October 2006.
