LEDA version 0.1

In version 0.1 the LEDA Traitbase offers trait data for
shoot growth form, leaf distribution along the stem, woodiness, branching, canopy height
age of first flowering, plant life span, specific leaf area, leaf dry matter content, leaf size
seasonality of buds, bud number / vertical distribution
seed number, seed shedding, seed crop frequency
seed releasing height, terminal velocity, clonal growth organs, seed mass,
plant growth form.

Data quality control for other traits is still under way, namely for
buoyancy, endozoochory, epizoochory, diaspore type, dispersal vector
persistence of connections between mother and daugther plants
number of offspring shoots, lateral spread,
seed bank longevity, seed shape
morphology of dispersal unit, habitat characteristics.
Data for these traits will be published once data quality control is finished.

So far, the only application publicly available is the LEDA web query application. It allows you to access the quality assured portion of Traitbase data. In particular, not all traits and not all attributes (e.g. those related to georeference an dhabitattype) are currently accessible.
As a registered user, you may retrieve up to 200 records worth of data per query. Please use the "Species Selection" tool or click "Define condition" to refine your query. If you want all records for one or many traits, we will be happy to cooperate. Contact us at editor_at_leda-traitbase.org
