The geographical range of LEDA
LEDA includes only fully naturalised species. The geographical range
roughly covers
NW-Europe from the North Cape, Norway, to the Loire in France, and
from the eastern borders of both Finland and Germany to the west
coast of Ireland. Alpine plant species are not included. Overlap of
plant species present in Iceland, Poland, the Baltic states, Czech
Republic, Slovakia and Hungary is still 50 to 80% indicating the
wide range of possible users of the Traitbase.
LEDA is not restricted to the flora of Northwest Europe. The LEDA
team rather sees the current range as a starting point to a wider
coverage of the European flora. We welcome any initiative to enlarge
the geographical range of the Traitbase. Please contact the LEDA
secretariat.
